About the course

Aim

This new programme offers industry recognised certification, leading to the Microsoft MTA Infrastructure and Cisco CCENT qualifications.  The course equips the learner with the knowledge, skills and competence in networking fundamentals, internetworking, infrastructure, security and cloud platforms with hands-on experience of Cisco devices, Microsoft Azure technologies and skills required to administer Office 365, Microsoft Intune, firewalls, network topologies and devices, and network ports.  The Cloud Platform competency is also designed for those looking to capitalise on the growing demand for infrastructure and software as a service (SaaS) solutions built on Microsoft Azure. 

Entry Requirements

Prior certification in CompTIA Network+ or equivalent
For mature students, experience will be considered in lieu of formal qualifications
Suitability for this course will be assessed at interview

The ICT sector accounted for approximately a quarter of all job announcements made in the media in 2016, with roles including IT security, data analytics and cloud computing. Feedback received from IT companies indicates a pressing demand for specific skills in Cloud networking, given national and international business demands.  Graduates in related courses have gained employment in companies such as IBM, Amazon, Microsoft, HPCDS, Intel, Citrix, Adobe and DELL.
