J.E.B., LEVEL III - Teacher Training Course in I.C.T. Skills
CERTIFICATE IN EDUCATION PRACTICE: ICT SKILLS
CERTIFICATE IN EDUCATION: PRINCIPLES & PRACTICE

Duration: The course runs from September to March each year
4 days a week, 9.30am - 1.00pm

Objectives: This one-year course enables students to acquire an internationally recognised teaching qualification in I.T. skills. In our fast growing computer based society there is an ever-increasing demand for teachers/trainers of information technology.


Entry Requirements

  • Candidates must have Leaving Certificate or its equivalent.
  • Exemption from this requirement may be given to mature candidates on written application to J.E.B.
  • Candidates also need to have at least ECDL level in IT skills plus relevant experience.
  • Candidates must be at least 20 years of age on the final assessment date.

Applied Principles of ICT Education
Education Principles & Practice

Microsoft Office Specialist Programme
An opportunity exists in the College for JEB students to acquire a Microsoft Office Specialist qualification. These classes will be available in the afternoons

Language
Spanish is offered as an optional extra on all courses

Work Experience
Teaching practice, which is compulsory, is provided in the College

Target Group
The award is suitable for those who want to start teaching ICT in a school, college or commercial establishment. Graduates who hold a teaching qualification are exempt from Education Principles & Practice.
