    Dundrum College of Further Education is participating in the National All Aboard 2017 #allaboard2017 which is a week-long (3-7 April 2017) series of national and regional public events designed to build confidence in Ireland’s digital skills for learning. We are proud of our Technology Enhanced Learning culture embedded in our courses. We will be demonstrating Chromebooks, Apple TV, Chrome cast and smartphones, BYOD along with a variety of programmes, websites and apps such as Google Classroom, TED talks, YouTube, Quizlet, scanner pro, Prezi, Socrates, Kahoot, Podcasts and Facebook all of which aim to develop a culture of self-directed learning among our students. For further information see here: http://allaboard2017...rther-education/

    Interested in returning to education but not sure what you want to do next? A new Study for Success course run by our partners Dundrum Adult Education Service provides an opportunity to improve your study skills while exploring course options for further study in our College. The course will take place two mornings a week from 9.30 until 1.00 pm on Wednesday and Thursday. Its a 15 weeks starting Wednesday 1st March with the option to achieve two QQI Level 4 Component Awards in Communications and Personal Effectiveness. The course also offers you the opportunity to improve your skills in Essay Writing, Report Writing, Computers including Word Processing (useful for essay/report writing) and using i-pads and other new technologies. You will also be supported to explore further study options such as the full time or part time classes in the Further Education College.  For further information please phone 2989283 or e-mail: dundrum@adulteducation.ie

    Students engage with the latest technologies reshaping our society  We were delighted to host a unique Techathon event in our Kilmacud Rd. Campus on Thursday 24th November from 2.30pm to 4.30pm to coincide with College Awareness Week 2016. The Techathon event saw student arrive from a number of schools in the locality who were able to engage with the latest technologies reshaping our society. On display was VR technologies allowing students to visit Machu Picchu, robot interaction, cybercrime and hacking the world, inventing Apps for Smartphones and entering the human brain with “In Mind”. Speaking about the event, Michael Foley, Deputy Principal, College of Further Education at Dundrum said ‘We are delighted to open our doors for College Awareness Week 2016. The purpose of the Techathon event is to offer hands on experience to students who may be thinking of a computing or IT related career, or those who are currently in transition year and are exploring college options. We have invited students from local schools, including St Tiernans and Colaiste Ide, and are looking forward to answering whatever questions they may have.’ We are already looking forward to our 2017 #CAW

    Congratulations to the three recipients of our Student Scholarship fund. Our students Lena Seale, Amy Fox and Sinead Ni Leannain were presented with their cheques in Dundrum Credit Union. The scholarship recipients each received 500 euro towards the cost of their College fees and expenses. Melanie Cleary made the presentation on behalf of the Dundrum Credit Union.
